COVID Vaccine Given to Elderly Health Workers in Kramat Jati

Alhamdulillah everything is fine, there are no side effects

Dozens of elderly health workers were given the COVID-19 vaccine at the Kramat Jati Sub-district Puskesmas, East Jakarta. It was held on Monday (2/8) until Wednesday (2/10).

Kramat Jati Sub-district Puskesmas Head Inda Mutiara said, on Monday, there were 24 elderly health workers registered to get Sinovac vaccine. From that number, only 19 were vaccinated and 5 others were cancelled.

On Tuesday, 17 were vaccinated. While for today, the number had not yet been collected.

"Those who are vaccinated consist of general practitioners, dentists, midwives, nurses and pharmacists who work in Kramat Jati area," she explained, Wednesday (2/10).

To smoothen it, she had set up six posts in Kramat Jati Sub-district Puskesmas, Cawang Sub-district Puskesmas, Cililitan Sub-district Puskesmas, Tengah Sub-district Puskesmas, Kramat Jati 1 Urban Village Puskesmas and Sehat Mutiara Cinta Pavillion or Maternal Child Services at Kramat Jati Sub-district Puskesmas.

"According to the results of Health Ministry and BPOM, Sinovac vaccine for the elderly is safe. Thus far the enthusiasm of the participants is also very good," she furthered.

She went on to say that they should be in good physical condition, no comorbid or comorbidities, not a survivor. Then they should also be active in working in health facilities in Kramat Jati area.

Before being vaccinated, they had to fill in the administrative data, registration according to their age. Then proceed with health screening if they pass, then it could be determined whether or not the elderly health worker was vaccinated or it should be postponed first.

"For observation, it is done after vaccination for 30 minutes. If the condition is safe and there are no side effects, they (health workers) are allowed to go home," she explained.

Ery Supriadi, one of participants appreciated the government's steps in providing health protection for elderly health workers who were still on duty amid epidemic.

After being vaccinated, he did not feel any pain and side effects. He also didn't even feel the stiffness at the injection site.

"Alhamdulillah everything is fine, there are no side effects," he admitted.
